CamLy church

CamLy church

Cam Ly Church is located on a hill near Cam Ly waterfall in Dalat city.

This church owns a original architecture style which is somehow like that of the communal house of Tay Nguyen people. Cam Ly church is the only one which is constructed for ethnic minority groups. That is why it reflects a original nuance which is completely different from those built for Kinh people. For ethnic minority people, this church is the home of the God and Yang (the God of Tay Nguyen ethnic groups). People started to build this construction at the end of 1959 and it is completed 8 years after that. The two roofs of the church shape like the hacks of 17 meters high, covered by 80 000 pieces of tile with the total weight of 90 tons. It took a long time and strength to complete all the parts of the construction. In front of the main gate located the statue of a tiger and a phoenix – familiar animals in spiritual and real life of ethnic minority people. The interior part of the church comprises a total area of 400 square meters. When you walk in, you will feel a solemn and marvelous atmosphere which is created by the effect of the architecture. The architects have successfully applied the art of organization and the architecture solution to harmoniously combine the natural and pure way of thinking of ethnic minority people with profound humanism philosophy.
